Habitat for Humanity seeks Grant County families interested in Sweetser home building project

The Habitat for Humanity of Grant County Inc. (HFHGC) has announced the location of its next build.

“We are very excited to share that we will be building a new home within the Sweetser community in 2020,” said Brittany Howey, board president, in a prepared statement.

This project is anticipated to break ground in late spring or early summer.

The organization is seeking families in Grant County who are interested in applying for this project. For a family to qualify for the program you must meet three criteria: the ability to pay, a need for housing, and a willingness to partner.

Families and community members interested in our program are invited to attend one of two informational sessions. During the session, we will share Habitat’s mission, how the selection process and program works, what it means to be a Habitat homeowner, and answer any questions you may have.

HFHGC is also seeking members of the community who would like to act in a volunteer capacity for the build as well as volunteers willing to serve on committees.

Some committees with openings include Family Support, Volunteer, Construction, and Church Relations.

If you are interested in a voluntary capacity please email info@granthabitat.com or call (765) 662.1552.

*Please note- Applications will only be available to those who were in attendance of one of the two meetings held on Jan. 27 and Feb. 1.
