An arrest has been made after a Silver Alert had to be declared for six-month-old Paris Robinson late Monday night.
Taja Robinson, 38, now faces a charge for interference with custody after taking her daughter from the baby’s father’s home without custodial rights, according to Marion Police Department’s Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Monday officers were called to the 1500 block of East Raymond Court for an unwanted guest.
Officers spoke with Dwayne Dodson who stated that he and the mother of his children, Taja Robinson were arguing at which time he asked her to leave his apartment.
After MPD was called, officers went into the apartment and began to look for Ms. Robinson and were unable to locate her inside the apartment.
There were two juveniles present in the apartment that told police that Robinson had left out the back door with the infant, Paris Robinson.
Officers then conducted an attempt to locate over the radio for Ms. Robinson and Paris and began to search the area, but were unable to locate them. A Silver Alert was issued for the missing infant at around 10:45 p.m.
On Tuesday at approximately 7:35 am, Marion Police Department’s dispatch received an anonymous call advising the location of Robinson and Paris.
Officers responded to the 1400 Block of W 1st St. where they were able to locate Robinson and her daughter. Paris was transported to Marion General Hospital for an evaluation and sustained no injuries.
Robinson now faces a charge of interference with custody, which is a Class C misdemeanor.
