The 16-year-old girl who died after being struck by a stray bullet in Indianapolis Saturday night was from Marion, according to WTHR.
Indianapolis leaders are now speaking out about the death of Nya Cope. She was struck when she and her mother stopped to get food in the area of East 38th street, near Arlington Avenue.
Hundreds of people were gathered in the area due to the nice weather, and they were gathering against the state’s stay-at-home order when the stray bullet hit Nya. Now city leaders are asking the city’s most influential to implore residents to stay home.
IMPD Chief Randal Taylor is asking the public for help in solving this case.
