A reserve officer with the Eaton Police Department has resigned after being arrested by Indiana State Police. Jamie Lynn Burris, 44, was arrested by state troopers early Saturday morning. Burris was a passenger in an SUV that slid off the road in Delaware County. State Police suspected the driver was intoxicated. During the investigation by state troopers, Burris became “verbally aggressive” and told the troopers they were fortunate she didn’t have access to her handgun, reports The Star Press. She was not on duty at the time of the investigation. Burris was arrested for intimidation and disorderly conduct. She was released from the Delaware County Jail after posting bond. The Eaton Police Department said Monday that Burris had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
