The Indiana Department of Transportation will begin a large amount of chip and seal work on area highways beginning Monday, and several area highways will be affected. Numerous lane restrictions are expected while the chip and seal work is going on, but no roads will be completely closed during the project.
Beginning Monday, chip and seal work will take place on the shoulders of State Road 18 between Marion and I-69. Work will also take place on highway 124 between State Roads 3 and 116 in Huntington and Wells counties. Also, State Road 18 between highway 3 and Montpelier in Blackford County. Chip and seal work will also take place on highway 37 between highways 9 and 26 in Grant County. And also work will take place on highway 3 between State Road 218 and and highway 18 in Wells and Blackford counties.
Expect traffic delays and lane closures while the work is taking place. The projects should be finished by md-August.
