A fire in an unoccupied house in Marion Thursday is believed to have been caused by a faulty space heater.
Marion Firefighters were called to the house in the 13-hundred block of West Sixth Street Thursday morning, where flames were found in a laundry room. No one lived in the house, but the owner lived just across the street and was using the building for storage.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but an estimated 15-thousand dollars in damage was reported.
One firefighter suffered a hand injury in battling the blaze.
