Indiana State Police virtually closed down portions of U-S 31 Wednesday after freezing rain fell on the area during the early morning hours.
With vehicles sliding off the roadway, State Troopers shut down portions of U-S 31 to prevent further problems.
Schools in Howard, Tipton and Miami counties closed Wednesday because of the road conditions.
