Residents in Muncie are getting their wish, a steel dust recycling plant will not be built there after all.
Muncie city leaders made that decision Tuesday night, after weeks of public backlash against the plant.
Waelz Sustainable Products bought land where Borg-Warner used to operate, but over fears of toxic chemicals being released and other environmental concerns, residents fought against it.
Now Waelz is talking with the Muncie Redevelopment Commission and is likely looking to sell the land back to the city.
