Grant County Halloween Event Round Up

Looking for ways to celebrate Halloween this year? Here’s our full list of activities in Grant County. If we missed any, please let people know in the comments below. We’ll continually update this list until Halloween.

Swayzee:

Swayzee United Methodist Church, located at 101 W. Madison St., is having a Trunk or Treat this Halloween. Cars with decorated trunks will hand out candy in the church parking lot to trick-or-treaters from 5 to 8 p.m.

From 5 to 8 p.m., the Swayzee Volunteer Fire Department will be handing out free candy during trick-or-treat hours at Chuckwagon Pizza, located at  203 S. Washington St.

Van Buren:

The Old Town Merchants Association will have its annual Halloween on Main Street this Saturday. Beginning at 6 p.m., Halloween on Main will have candy, a kiddie train, costume contests, and more.

The 400-700 blocks will be closed during this event as children will trick or treating at the merchants along Main Street. This is a free event and it ends when all the candy is gone.

Jonesboro:

This Halloween the Jonesboro Indiana Park Board is hosting a trunk or treat in front of Jonesboro City Hall on Main Street.  From 5 to 9 p.m., Main Street will be full of hot dogs, popcorn, candy, games, a DJ and more. In case of rain, the trunk or treat will be moved to the Jonesboro Community Center.

Gas City:

This Sunday, Oct. 27, Gas City will hold a Motorcycle Halloween Trunk or Treat.  Bikers are invited to meet at Lance’s in Gas City at 1 p.m. with kickstands up at 1:30 p.m. for the parade to Gas City Park. At Gas City Park, there will be costume contests, bounce house, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, free lunch and more.  Events will be happening from 2 to 4 p.m. with trick or treating until all the candy is gone.

Marion:

The Marion Public Library will host a Halloween Escape Room beginning today, Oct. 25. Teams of 3-6 children can sign up now in Children’s/Youth Services of the library. The escape room will run until Friday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m.

The Marion Public Library is inviting children in preschool through 6th grade to a Halloween Monster Mash on Oct. 26.  There will be a book walk, face painting, and stroll down the Haunted Walkway.  This party will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Marion Public Library.

This Saturday, Oct. 26, Brandt’s I-69 Harley Davidson is hosting Harleyween.  The event will include a Little Goblins Costume Contest, ABATE Tiny Tots Track, Bounce House, free lunch, cotton candy and a DJ.  Harleyween will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is presented by the Guardian of the Children, a local motorcycle group that helps neglected and abused children.

The Hostess House is having a Hallowine wine tasting this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. Costumes are welcome and wines are paired with food. Reservations must be made and paid ahead of time and it is $35.  For more information or to reserve a spot, call 765-664-3755.

This Halloween, everyone is invited to the Eastern Woodland Carvers Club to trick or treat or hand out candy. Trick or treating runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Lakeview Wesleyan Church, located at 5316 S. Western Ave., will be hosting a trunk-or-treat event from 5-8 p.m. They’ll have more than 20 trunks with candy, free food and snacks, hayrides, music and more.
