Indiana sees a dip in sports betting

Hoosiers didn’t spend as much money on sports gambling in June, compared to May. Indiana saw $246.3 million in wagers last month, down from $254.4 million in May. However, revenue went up last month. That’s revenue for the sportsbooks and the state of Indiana. “The sportsbooks payout the winners, collect on the losers, and the amount that they have left is revenue,” explains Jessica Welman with PlayIndiana.com. Essentially, it means more people in Indiana lost bets and lost money in June. The $25.5 million in revenue last month turns into just over two million dollars for Indiana in taxes.
