Paisley’s Unnecessary Advice: Avoid Buying Things At Airports

Okay… I’m a frequent flyer. I’ve spent more time in airports over the last two years than I have on land. That’s a little bit of exhaustion, but still… I’ve spent a lot of time in airports exploring and going back to Denver. It wasn’t until yesterday that I learned why you pay more for things at airports than you do when you aren’t there.

You guessed it… each airport has its own tax. So when you buy something like a coffee or a snack, you aren’t only paying the state tax you are also paying the airport tax… which is usually a tad higher than the state tax depending where you are at. So if you don’t want to pay an arm and leg for something, try to avoid buying it at the airport. I know sometimes when it comes to food you have to, but make sure you budget a few extra dollars for that tax increase. If only we knew this sooner!
