Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly is one of several Democrats on Capitol Hill asking President Trump to renew his declaration of the opioid epidemic as a National Public Health Emergency.
The declaration would open up more money and resources from the federal government to be used to fight the crisis. The President’s current declaration expires next week.
Donnelly says he has not seen as much action from the White House to curb the problem as he would like.
